Top Ten Tuesday (11): YA Debuts Whose Second Books Can't Come Fast Enough

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and LOVE to see other top ten lists!
This week's TTT is all about those debut authors who knocked it out of the park the first time around that I am eagerly anticipating their second novel. Because they have to be writing more, right? Clicking on the cover will take you to the Goodreads page for the book!

Elise Kova
Debut Novel: Air Awakens | My Review
I guess this one is technically cheating because I have already read the second book in this series and know it is flawless. I highly recommend and suggest that you read this series if you have not already been persuaded by me to do so.

Amy McNulty
Debut Novel: Never Goddess | My Review
This one was not what I was anticipating, but was so much better than that. I cannot wait for the next one in the series to come out. It is such a good series and if you want a bit of magic and a bit of romance, this is the book for you.

Anna-Marie McLemore
Debut Novel: The Weight of Feathers | My Review
Actual perfection. Cluck and Lace are forever in my heart. I bought a copy of this one for people as presents. PERFECTION.

Pintip Dunn
Debut Novel: Forget Tomorrow | My Review
I really enjoyed this one. It was such a good science fiction dystopian novel. One of the best ones I've read in a while and that's saying a lot. If you are looking for something ~different~ in science fiction, check out this one.

A.N. Willis
Debut Novel: The Corridor | My Review
This is another one that is sort of cheating because I have read THE THIRTEENTH WORLD, which was just as awesome as the first. Speculative fiction and travelling between worlds makes it a definite must-read for those who love science fiction.

Tessa Elwood
Debut Novel: Inherit The Stars | My Review
THIS ONE BROKE MY HEART IN SUCH A GOOD WAY. It is in stream of consciousness and is just one of the best novels I've read in a long time. Everything about it made me very very very happy.

Jessica Minyard
Debut Novel: Stones and Finger Bones | My Review
A new fantasy novel that had *some* issues with it but I still highly recommend it. It had such an interesting take on magic and fantasy and I highly enjoyed reading it.

Lauren Bird Horowitz
Debut Novel: Shattered Blue | My Review
I am Judah's rebel and I love just about everything about this novel. If you're looking for a good fae novel, this is it. I really want everyone to just read this novel. Because it is so good. SO GOOD. And there is poetry throughout which is great.

E. Katherine Kottaras
Debut Novel: How To Be Brave | My Review Will Be Posted on November 13th
I am part of the blog tour for this one, so you will have to wait on my review for it. But much like with Sugar, I recommend this one to people who don't feel like they belong in their skin and are looking for something more out of their lives.

Jennifer Jenkins
Debut Novel: Nameless | My Review
FUDGE. THIS ONE WAS SO FUDGING GOOD.

  1. I read Air Awakens and I can't wait for the sequel! Not too much longer until it's released! I haven't read any of the other books on your list, but some of them are on my TBR!

  2. I haven't read these books but that cover for Forget Tomorrow might make that change. It's so beautiful! I have Shattered Blue, I've heard nothing but great things about that book. I don't know why I keep putting it off!

    Here is my TTT!

  3. I had Pintip Dunn on my list as well. I mentioned in my review, I am surprised how much I really enjoyed the book. I was afraid it would be another Hunger Games/Divergent book (not to say I don't like those books, but I didn't want another). THAT ENDING!!!!!! I need the sequel now!

  4. I’m reading and loving Air Awakens now and had to add it to my own list as well. Plus the cover is just totally awesome. I’ve heard of Shattered Blue before back before it came out but didn’t know anything about it, now that I see it again I might need to check it out. My Top Ten

  6. I regretfully have not heard of any of these except for Air Awakens, and even that was only a few minutes ago! I will have to add it to my TBR. :-)
