Welcome to Shadowhunter Academy (Tales From Shadowhunter Academy #1) by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan
After living as a Mundane and a Vampire, Simon never thought he would become a Shadowhunter, but today he begins his training at Shadowhunter Academy.
I liked the story of this one and it was a nice way to include a sort of epilogue while introducing new characters and creating a new platform for the Shadowhunters to live on. It also serves as a way to check in on some of our favourite characters after the fact.
I just wanted more. I wanted to learn more about the actual training sessions and what Shadowhunters actually learn. It also wasn't very clear about whether or not the mundanes after Ascension have to redo the training in the "Elite" stream or if they just become fully qualified Shadowhunters.
Simon is still my fave. He may be different -- and this gets acknowledged A LOT, like almost too much -- but he is still Simon to the core. I just hope he comes to realize that.
George Lovelace is by far my new favourite character in the entire Shadowhunter world (which was previously a position held by Jem Carstairs so you know this is serious). I can't wait for more about him and his antics. Who would have thought I would love a Lovelace. *shrugs*
Overall: 4/5 stars and they are all for George Lovelace.
