I am flattered and humbled by your op...Dear Jamie,

I am flattered and humbled by your open letter. It's my first real piece of fan mail, and it's amazing to know that someone in Canada is waiting to read my book.

CONSIDER might just meet many of your expectations. It has several sci-fi references to Doctor Who & Star Trek. It even has a silly Harry Potter scene (yes, I had to...)

But more important, the story serves as a character study of Alexandra, her family, and her friends, and how they each deal in an impossible situation.

As you mentioned, Alexandra suffers from GAD and panic attacks throughout the book. Since I have close relatives with different types of anxiety disorders, I've witnessed them struggle and mistakenly think that it's a sign of weakness; I wanted to show them how strong they, and you, really are.

My goal was to create a female main character who deals with anxiety and becomes the hero of the story. I am so happy to hear that you are already connecting with her character. She was made for you.

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and openness in sharing your own story. You made me less nervous and more excited to get this thing published.

Sincerely,
Kristy Acevedo, author of CONSIDERKristy Acevedohttp://kristyacevedo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6048790966720969871.post-62614640489447295822015-10-19T19:04:12.834-04:002015-10-19T19:04:12.834-04:00This book sounds great! I love it when characters are going through tough things in life and suddenly crap like the end of the world starts appearing - it adds a little spice to the story! Oops.

Although I'm not a huge science fiction fan, I read a few titles a year, and Consider seems very unique. I'll be reading it one of these days. :)Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08131832400840619615noreply@blogger.com
